Ajay, originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, is a pharmacist and co-owner of UMC Pharmacy. He is multi-lingual speaking English, Afrikaans, Gujurati, Setswana and Zulu. His pharmacy background is vast having worked in three areas of practice: hospital, community and industry (manufacture). Having lived and worked in three countries - South Africa, Botswana and New Zealand – Ajay is an experienced pharmacist with an in-depth understanding of medicines, people and health systems.
Nothing gives Ajay more satisfaction than helping people understand their medicines by working with them and their doctor to get the best outcomes. He has specialist knowledge about chronic diseases and is passionate about older peoples health.
Ajay has special interest in digital health and using technology to help people with their health.
Outside of the pharmacy Ajay enjoys spending time with his family, especially his grandson, watching sport and gardening.
